Snake bite and Venom Research Unit
The snake bite and
venom research unit is a multi-disciplinary research unit consisting
of basic science and clinical research on snake venom of Southeast
Asian region. This research unit is aiming to be the Center of
Excellence concentrating on snake bites and venoms research in Thailand.
The research unit is an
active place for
graduate student
training in molecular biology, immunology, and
chemistry. Its clinical research activities are popular subjects for
training physicians in research as well as setting up clinical
practice guideline for physicians of Thailand.
The research unit started offering an elective course in clinical toxinology for medical
students in February 2004. Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) and textbooks for toxinology
are under development.
